Lesson Topic
The Red Scare after WWI
Lesson Outline
Today we reviewed the Red Scare, the McCarthy Era and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, American citizens who were convicted of spying on behalf of the Soviet Union. Arrested in 1950, the couple were convicted of providing top-secret information about radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines and valuable nuclear weapon designs (at that time the US was the only country in the world with nuclear weapons). Convicted of espionage in 1951, they were executed by the federal government of the US in 1953 for becoming the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to receive that penalty during peacetime.

Lesson Comments
I had no idea that Jaydn was absent today as her name was not on the white board. Her room was occupied this morning and I assumed Jaydn was in there and that we would see each other at the lunchtime art awards ceremony. It took me a while to figure out that Jaydn was not there, so went I to her room and contacted her through Teams and she was indeed, at home today.
