In connection with Matthew's literary research project, I first provided instruction on proper MLA format to source web page articles on the "Works Cited" page. We discussed MLA format for both authored articles and corporate authored articles. We then examined the first steps in Pip's journey to self discovery as he begins to acknowledge his moral character has changed for the worse and has likewise infected the character of his friend ,Herbert Pocket. I discussed the somewhat formulaic "bildungsroman" novel noting certain events typically act as a catalyst to self discovery. Here, the death of his sister who raised Pip coupled with Pip's heartbreak over Estella begin Pip's process of self knowledge.
