I worked some practice problems with Jaydn calculating lateral and surface areas for triangular prisms, rectangular solids, and cylinders. I showed her how the lateral areas of triangular prisms can be found using the areas of the rectangles that make up their sides. By analyzing the pairs of matching faces in rectangular solids, we were able to find the surface areas. I also pointed out that the lateral area of a cylinder can be found by multiplying the circumference by the height. There was no assignment.
