Lesson Outline
Richard was greeted in the lobby. He was happy throughout session. We started to target past tense in the conversational setting (unstructured) which Richard tends to have more difficulty with (generalizing the skill). For example, when talking about his sleep over with friends over the weekend - he expressed that his friend "never leaved" rather than "never left". When prompted, he is able to correct the response. In addition, we have been working on the difference between much/many (quantitative concept). This is a new skill we have been targeting. He often mixes the two or frequently over uses "much" i.e. "I have so much scratches". We briefly went over his monthly calendar. We targeted voiced '/th/ at the sentence level (~60% accuracy ). Overall, his /th/ in initial part of the word during converational level has significantly improved. Rate of speech reduction prompting was required a few times this session as he tends to omit sounds when he's talking too fast. Overall however, it was a good session. I will see him next week.
