Complete discussion of chemical digestion within the stomach.
Explain what an emulsion is, and an emulsifying agent.
Relate that bile is an emulsifying agent, produced within the liver and stored in the gall bladder. It is released upon hormone stimulus.
Discuss the completed digestion of chyme in the small intestines, the glands involved, the enzymes produced, and the end products of the digestion.
Absorption of digested nutrients is facilitated through the action of villi and micro villi.
Show the structure of the villi using a diagram, and stress the importance of the capillaries and the lacteal.
Introduce how gall stones will block the common bile duct and some methods used to treat.
