Use images to discuss the structure and function of the circulatory system.
Show the 3 tunica of an artery and the function of each. Discuss the flow of blood from artery to arteriole to arteriole capillary. Explain how substances are diffused into and out of the capillaries, and view a diagram of a capillary bed with single file blood cells passing through.
Discuss how valves prevent back flow in veins, which have little or no pressure to propel the blood.
Outline the systemic circulation, the pulmonary circulation, the hepatic circulation, the renal circulation, and the fetal circulation.
