Cabo analyzed and discussed the next three chapters of the novel Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. He then discussed the following examples of rhetorical strategies: the difference between static and dynamic characters, examples in the novel of verbal, structural, and dramatic irony, made an inference based on events in the novel. Identified examples of similes, metaphors, personification, hyperbole and foreshadowing in the novel, and identified examples of internal conflict within the novel.
