Today Atticus and I got to know each other by talking about what we will be learning in 6th grade Life Science while we completed a back-to-school gardening activity. In the gardening activity, we cut up potatoes that had sprouted eyes and planted them in a bin of homemade, local soil. We discussed how we will tend to the garden daily and record our observations about the weather and garden growth in a gardening logbook. We briefly discussed that we will be covering a variety of life science topics in our Inspire Science curriculum, to include a workbook and online learning component with virtual labs and in-person labs.
