It also intersected with several major wars, including the 100 Years' War and War of the Roses. These two wars were fought over dynastic power and control over territory. The Renaissance is known for its art and Classical scholarship more than anything else. Some of the most well-known artists from this period were: Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci.
