Today, we reviewed one of the 6 characteristics of living things: reproduction (asexual and sexual). We then began discussing the next characteristic: response to stimuli. I wrote the words stimuli, stimulus, and stimulate on the board, and underlined the root, "stim." We discussed that all these words involve triggering a living thing to respond. We viewed a short video illustrating human response to stimuli, pausing for comprehension, to discuss, and notate. We observed that stimuli involve our 5 senses: hearing, touch, taste, sight, and smell.
