As Atticus has encountered reading comprehension issues over the past sessions, we today practiced annotating the text while reading as a means of aiding comprehension and retention. In this exercise, we underlined specific areas that addressed the study guide questions Atticus had difficulty answering . We further explored why the dystopian society of the novel elected to select one person to hold all of society's painful memories. We further used the text to address Atticus' questions about what lies beyond the community.
