Today, Atticus and I read a passage about bone marrow transplants. Bone marrow contains stem cells, which perform cell differentiation. We learned that bone marrow transplants occur to help people with blood diseases so that the stem cells can differentiate into healthy, specialized cells, replacing the cancerous ones.
