Lesson Topic
A Christmas Carol/Dickens
Lesson Outline
We noted the thematic significance of all of the scenes the Ghost of Christmas Present shares with Scrooge. Atticus discussed how these scenes of the impoverished during Christmas affect Scrooge and perhaps hasten his redemption. Continuing our discussion of character, we then examined Fred's charitable opinion of Scrooge notwithstanding Scrooge's rejection of Fred's Christmas invitation and wishes. Since Atticus did not complete his assigned journal entries last night, we then reviewed the text to locate significant passages that Atticus could analyze. We discussed Atticus' journal entries for the remainder of the session. I further advised Atticus that there will be test on Chapters 1-3 next Tuesday.
