Session Date
Lesson Topic
Elevated Vocabulary, Irregular Present Tense Verbs and Adjective Agreement
Lesson Outline
Vocabulary and verb mastery are two crucial components for success on the IB exam and advanced proficiency. Therefore, each week moving forward, I am exposing Lilly to elevated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions/locutions specific to the IB exam's themes or generally useful in all contexts. We will also be examining irregular verbs on a regular basis as her verb knowledge is weak. Today, we focused on the irregular verbs "etre," "avoir" and "aller." Grammatically, we began exploring adjective agreement today, discussing the role of adjectives, noun gender, placement, agreement and vocabulary.
Assignment
Lilly should study the elevated vocabulary list every evening.

Lesson Comments
Lilly arrived in a better mood today, more energized and ready to learn. She unfortunately relayed that her vocabulary quiz last week in class did not go well; she knew the vocabulary, but the teacher required the vocabulary be used in context and due to a lack of knowledge of the surrounding vocabulary, she had difficulties using the terms. Her vocabulary truly is deficient, so it is crucial that she study, study, study vocabulary terms every evening. She was much more applied today in our work together and I was happy to see that change.
