Session Date
Lesson Topic
A christmas Carol/Dickens
Lesson Outline
As we have completed reading the story, we today focused on what events most influenced Scrooge's redemption. We concluded that the Ghost of Christmas Future's pointing to Scrooge's tombstone had the most impact on Scrooge followed by the death of Tiny Tim. We then looked at Atticus' journal entries from last night's homework and examined how to locate more meaningful portions of the text as well as how to better explain the selected textual passages. Last, we began to discuss the events of the final pages with an aim of locating examples of both Scrooge's commitment to societal redemption as well as examples of his individual redemption. We will work on this further tomorrow as it will be the topic of an essay we will write in class next week.
