While Atticus has done well with his written chapter summaries, he remains unclear on run-ons and fragments.As such, we had a grammar lesson today on sentence mechanics. I demonstrated parts of speech-subject, verb, object, and prepositional phrase -and explained what constitutes a run-on sentence and what constitutes a sentence fragment. I then distributed run-on and fragment exercises .After Atticus completed the exercises, we reviewed his answers and addressed incorrect responses. Last, I provided some spelling instruction.
