Lesson Topic
Sports Business, NIL and cautionary awareness
Lesson Outline
Sports Business (the business side of sports) initial lesson born out of Cameron's recent experience with some sort of 'YouTube guy'. Cameron and friend Charlie were videotaped golfing. While it was "fun" for Cam, I asked about the "WHY"? Why would this man pick two teenage boys to shoot video of? Random? No, two teenage sons of PGA Celebrities. Cameron and his friend were not paid (Lesson: Name, Image, Likeness) but the video guy didn't explain his intentions, motivations or long term revenue stream of potential future golf greats together as teens. (Red Flag!) Also introduced the NCAA impact of dealing with guy if an agent.

Lesson Comments
Sports Business was always intended to be part of the sports broadcasting lesson plan but his personal circumstances of the week dictated the lesson. I opened his eyes to the business side of sports and Camerons need to start being on super heightened awareness of people trying to capitalize on his name and future. I have the very unique experience to see this for what it is. I could be hyper proactive.....but better than being too late.
