Final Class, Final Assignment (TV Sportscast) Finally Complete?
Lesson Outline
NO! Final Assignment (TV Sportscast) on the Final Class, Finally Complete? No...and NO also represents Jackson presence for Two Sessions today: No Show!
Incomplete is the Grade where is was pushing an A. In broadcasting the News Starts @ 6pm...not 6:25pm because you're running a little behind today. Ballgames start on time and if you miss the team bus or BP, you'll get fined and maybe lose your position in the starting line up.
Failure has consequences and Jackson has failed to make deadline on this last assignment for two weeks. The crazy thing is....Jackson has some much talent, absorb lessons quickly and here is the bottom line: He did it to himself.

You'll notice the extra 45 minutes (135 for today) as Jordy asked me if I could stay through his next session which was study hall. I did as we were both hoping he would show up & turn something in. I know for a fact the TV Sportscast is nearly done. Jackson was supposed to email it to me Monday afternoon--nothing. Tuesday I texted him to email me the finished package. No reply. Wednesday I text him "???" regarding the assignment, no response. All those blown deadlines had nothing to with traffic delays on the draw bridge at Donald Ross. Everyone else made it school.
Jackson on time go over current sports news, then back to completion of 6pm TV Sportscast of mythical day in March after PGA stop in Palm Beaches. Jackson did NOT retrieve his laptop from the classroom Friday so he did not have assignment due today! So we have to chew up more in-class time recording audio tracks plus he still needs to research details of key players on that date.

Throughout the class Ben played with his legos, he warmed up enough to have a stimulating discussion. He did not want to write. I suggested he record his thoughts and create his paper.
Ben's assignment was to think of a current event topic, research it, and type a one-page article about it. We talked a little about journalism and what he would do if he were reporting on a current event.

I substituted for Ben's journalism class since Christopher was absent. I read instructions to him while he worked on a Lego project. When I said, "The first thing you need to do is find a topic," he said, "Yeah, I heard you." He continued working with his Legos. I was able to get him to talk about journalism for a couple minutes.
Learning more about the credibility factors that make for a good, reliable journalist.
Also, how accountability plays a factor and why accuracy is key when reporting any story, either through writing or broadcasting.
