Lesson Topic
The Holocaust: Antisemitism and Genocide in Nazi Germany
Lesson Outline
Today's lesson was about the Holocaust which began with Kristallnacht, also known as the "Night of Broken Glass" in 1938. Afterward, German Jewish people were denied the opportunity to work and own property, were imprisoned, confined to ghettos, and sent to death camps. Hitler called this strategy "The Final Solution" with the intention of eliminating all Jewish people from Europe. In addition to antisemitism, Hitler called for genocide on other minority groups, such as the Roma, people with disabilities, Communists, and other political rivals. People were imprisoned, used for medical experiments, and systematically murdered.
