Sadee flipped a penny 100 times and counted the number of heads and tails showed up. We recorded the results using tally marks. The total for heads was 53, and for tails was 47. Sadee had great fun with this activity. We then made a penny rubbing and Sadee wrote the year of the penny on the activity. Sadee was reminded how to write the number 6 as she occasionally reverses it. She next worked on a Statue of Liberty activity where she connected numbers 1 - 50 and then colored in the page as we reviewed facts. Sadee read a booklet about the Statue of Liberty and another on President Lincoln. We looked up images of the Statue of Liberty and Sadee asked relevant questions and then colored it in the activity book. Sadee made observations about Lincoln's appearance and traced his picture on the back of the book. She enjoyed today's activities.
