As Atticus is encountering some reading comprehension challenges, we used today's session to review and to rewrite his homework study guide answers. By spending time in class to study the text, Atticus was able to better understand the characters and to successfully complete his study guide work . We specifically worked on the novel's characterization of Bruno's mother as a sympathetic person who is reluctant to live adjacent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. I provided instruction on how to formulate a study guide answer and how to support a full sentence response by summarizing an event or passage in the novel.
