Lesson Outline
This afternoon, Rosalina began working on beginning letter identification. She was prompted to identify the beginning letters in a series of words shown to her during an academic activity using technology. Rosalina did very well in this activity. She then engaged in an activity in which she made predictions regarding story outcomes, and she did equally well when making logical determinations based on facts, information, and visual clues provided. Rosalina remains focused on activities of interest to her and suggests ideas to add complexity to activities. While deferential to authority and responsive to directives, once comfortable, she is not shy to voice opinions and/or requests. I read Rosalina a Dr. Seuss book entitled "Hooray for Diffendoofer Day" and we circled the words that rhymed. Given some support, Rosalina enjoyed engaging in this activity and laughed at some of the sillier sounding words. She was also encouraged to make predictions based on visual cues. Rosalina worked on a cut-and-paste activity on which was tasked to identify words beginning with their corresponding beginning letter(s). She exhibited good manual dexterity performing this activity and was able to correctly differentiate between similarly configured letters (such as differentiating between the letters, 'w' and its inverted 'm' and the letter 'v.' Her performance on this task indicates good visual perceptual/discrimination skills. We finished with a tracing activity to reinforce and consolidate prior gains. Rosalina exhibits good fine motor dexterity and control using writing implements. She clearly enjoyed wrapping up her week here at the Batt School with the new friends she made in class on this fun Friday, and today she wore a beautiful white dress with a veil. Rosalina is a bright, sweet, and jubilant young girl and she was a delight to get to know.

Lesson Comments
I worked with Rosalina from 12:30 - 2:45 this afternoon, Friday, 4-14-23. Kevin was supposed to work with her from 1:15 - 2:00, but she was very shy and reticent about working with him and asked to stay with me, which Ms. Judie approved.
