Philip read and discussed most of the short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson after completing his poem revision. We will use that as a basis for discussion of the 9 elements of a short story next week. Recess shortened our period.
II. The student will read the classic short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
III. The student will apply the 9 elements of a short story to The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and apply these elements to an original short story to improve the quality of the original work.
