The Climate Crisis
Lesson Outline
According to the World Meteorological Organization, the world is now likely to breach a key climate threshold for the first time within the next five years. The causes are due to a combination of heat-trapping pollution and El Nino. Global temperatures have soared in recent years as the world continues to burn planet-warming fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas. Between now and 2027, there's a 66% chance that Earth's temperature will climb above 1.5 degrees. There's a 98% likelihood that one of the next five years will be the longest on record as per the WMO. The last 8 years were the warmest on record. We looked at the Paris Agreement re: climate change and discussed how Cameron's generation may make changes to address the world's climate crisis.
