Occupational Therapy Treatment Session
Lesson Outline
Richard was seen in his room for a 45 minute treatment session today. Focus of treatment was on improving fine motor skills (hand strength, grip strength, dexterity and manipulation), visual motor integration, ocular motor skills, and graphomotor skills/keyboarding as an alternate means to written communication. To begin today's session, Richard has to cut out various schapes to make "Script Island's" island. This island is used when teaching the next cursive letter group and helps the learner visually and to trace the movement of the next group of letters. Using this visual reference makes learning this group of letters easier and less confusing. The group of letters Richard is learning is called "Up and Around to Mikey's Hut" letters which consist of cursive lowercase letters "c, o, a, d, g, and q". Today Richard was instructed on lowercase letter "c" and was able to write it adequately. Lastly, he participated in the "Ann Arbor Tracking Program" to work on his visual tracking (pursuits). This was a great session.
