Lesson Topic
Simplifying Algebraic Expressions
Lesson Outline
We worked on Jonathan’s equations calendar project. I explained the difference between an algebraic expression and an algebraic equation. Then we proceeded to change the expressions in the calendar to equations capable of being solved for the number of each day in November 2024. We were able to complete the first two requirements: 4-1 step equations and five equations that use combining like terms. We need to practice adding a variable to the distributive expressions that Jonathan created and add rational numbers and negative integers to the rest of the equations. He is able to grasp concepts very quickly. He will do fine with more one-on-one practice.
