Lesson Outline
We reviewed literature about the Donner family as it was aligned with subject matter and work that Ben is doing in American History. Ben knew the details of this pioneer story, which lured this family group west to California in late 1846, with the promise of free land and better climate but they got stranded en route. It was the worst disaster of the overland migration to California. Ben was able to fill in many of the details of this fateful expedition.
