Today Aiden and I met on Teams. We completed 4.1 on Writing algebraic expressions. Aiden did an excellent job reading the word problems and interpreting how to write the scenario as an algebraic expression. We practiced several problems, for example purchasing "d" pounds of almonds and "c" pounds of cashews at $9.99 and $12.99 per pound (respectively). Aiden was able to set up the expression 9.99d+12.99c to represent the cost of purchasing the nuts. We showed understanding that as d and c vary, the total cost would vary.
