Today PJ and I met on Teams. We had two classes today. The first class we spent completing the PEMDAS maze we started yesterday. We used different colors to complete it and it turned out looking pretty. I will print it for him to display in his room tomorrow. The next class we worked on algebraic expressions. We practiced writing the sentences "4 more than n" and "the quotient of b and 3". I was impressed with PJ's ability to do the tricky ones like "7 less than w". Many students make the mistake of writing 7-w, but PJ knew that it should be w-7. This is the first step in setting up algebraic equations.
