Today we spent the first 10 minutes of class gathering the notes serving as his review. We are almost done gathering his past material notes and we will be caught up (maybe 1-2 more days?). Next, we moved onto 5.2 which was a word problem application of the two step equations. The problems we covered require a higher order thinking level and I think Aiden did a great job of dissecting the word problems. Together we took notes on scenarios that had Aiden set up an equation to a total, and then use his equation to solve for the variable (in two steps). We reviewed that to isolate a variable, we apply inverse operations to both sides of the equation. Aiden has some previous experience with this so he was confident as he worked. We will continue with this tomorrow.
