Lesson Topic
7.1 Pythagorean Theorem
Lesson Outline
Today Carson and I learned the Pythagorean Theorem. I showed him on the white board how we typically find the distance between two points is by counting the units between them. However if the points are at a diagonal, then our counting may not be accurate. I had Carson draw a right triangle. We identified the legs and the hypotenuse. Then I showed Carson how to find the hypotenuse of a triangle with legs 3 units and 4 units. We applied the pythagorean Theorem a^2+b^2=c^2 to find the missing side was 5 units. Carson did a great job with this lesson.
