Occupational Therapy Treatment Session
Lesson Outline
Luke was seen in his room for a 45-minute occupational therapy treatment session. Focus of treatment was on improving his bilateral integration/hand usage, fine motor development, graphomotor skills, postural control and sensory processing/organization for improved general performance in various environments. Began today session with kinetic sand play for sensory input via the tactile system. Seemed calming and organizing for Luke. Continued to work on "whole body listening". Luke was able to follow a two-step direction but needed the second direction repeated 4/5 times. Next, we discussed self regulation and used an Emotions Worksheet which had facial expressions of different emotions. We talked about different students and different times when they were feeling certain ways and Luke was able to chose the appropriate emotion. He also talked about how he felt during different times/situations. Lastly, we worked on handwriting by creating a book per Luke's request. He wrote the title today and illustrated the first page. The book is called "It's Raining Pokeman". Productive session.
