Occupational Therapy Treatment Session
Lesson Outline
Richard was seen in his room for a 45-minute treatment session. His session focuses on improving his postural control, integration of retained reflexes, visual motor skills and integration, fine motor skills, dexterity, manipulation, ocular motor development and graphomotor development/keyboarding as an alternative means to written communication. Began with Ann Arbor Tracking Program to work on
and improve visual saccades and tracking. For his first trial, Richard was asked to track seven words from a sentence in a jumbled word paragraph. It took him 32 seconds to track seven words with one verbal cue because he skipped one word and had to go back to find it. For the second trial it took Richard 34 seconds to track 10 words in a jumbled word paragraph independently. Next we worked on following directions and listening skills. OT gave direction at a medium speed but Richard was 0/3 in following a 2-step direction correctly. Reviewed all previously learned cursive and introduced him to the letter "f" in cursive.
