Lesson Outline
Chris was eager to initiate conversation this morning, as he inquired about the topics that have been at the forefront of recent sessions. His strong motivation continues to provide excellent opportunities to expand into the key aspects of perspective taking, presupposition, "filtering," and topics such as intentionality, empathy, and predicting outcomes. This continues to be a vital focus, as navigating successful peer communication exchanges and relationships is paramount.
Strong cue support strategies were provided as Chris navigated "problem solving scenarios" which highlighted the dynamics of "text messaging" in contrast to verbal, face to face communication. Review of the aspects of facial expression, gestural communication, and use of intonation as it relates to intention was embedded within the problem solving scenarios. Familiar attentional shifting was observed to increase as task demand increased. Provision of familiar "Brain Gym" activities facilitated stronger self awareness and successful task completion. Strong session today.
