Lesson Outline
Today PJ and I prepared for a Quiz he is going to have tomorrow. We worked in his textbook with the review problems in the back of the chapter. PJ and I reviewed how to verify if a constant is a solution to the equation (without actually solving it). Then we discussed the properties of equality and determined if they applied in the given scenario. Lastly, we discussed how to use inverse relationships to solve for the given variable. PJ did an excellent job. We had extra time so we introduced the concept of greater than, less than (and equal to). PJ already had a good understanding, so we were able to build on it today. I asked him what the symbol would look like if you wanted to make AT LEAST $40. He knew to write x is greater than or equal to 40. I said, what if the temperature for the day is AT MOST 90 degrees. He was able to write t is less than or equal to 90.
