Lesson Outline
Today we finished the last section in Chapter 5 - solving multi-step inequalities. Aiden did an excellent job with this content today. Aiden was asked to set up and solve inequalities like "Three times the difference of Federico’s age and 4, increased by 7, is greater than 37. What are possible values of Federico’s age?" I reminded Aiden that difference implies subtraction. After that he easily set up the inequality 3(f-4)+7>37. Aiden used the distributive property, combined like terms and solved for f. Later, we reviewed a problem that involved dividing by a negative number and Aiden remembered on his own to flip the inequality symbol. This chapter is one of Aiden's strongest so far.
