Represent and Graph Ratios
Lesson Outline
Today PJ and I worked on graphing ratios. We started with the example that 3 balloons cost $2. We then used that ratio to predict the cost of 6 balloons, 9 balloons, etc. We started with a table and listed the values up to 15 balloons. Then we created a coordinate plane and plotted each of the points. I asked PJ to explain to me in the context of the problem what the coordinates (6,4) meant. He was able to explain that it meant 6 balloons would cost $4. We did a few examples like this. I asked him challenge questions like "Would it be possible to buy 8 balloons for $5?
