Lesson Outline
Libby was seen in her room for a 45-minute treatment session with the focus of therapy on fine motor skills specifically grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, and handwriting. Started session with hanging star chart and alphabet in Libby's room. Libby communicated with OT that she wore shorts and her hair up when playing soccer. She received stars on her chart for both. Continued treatment with having her dig through moderate resistive putty with her hands and fingers to find hidden objects within the resistive putty. She was able to find all hidden objects independently.
Libby was able to recognize 23/26 letters of the upper case alphabet today. She needed verbal cues to recognize M and V and was unable to recognize F, N and S. Continued treatment working on manipulation and dexterity skills to make the letter "F" using pegs on Lite Brite board. Lastly, worked on ocular motor skill of "convergence" to make nose on lady bug hung on door. Great session and steady gains seen.
