Lesson Topic
Numbers 1-10, My turn
Lesson Outline
Libby practiced her numbers 1-10. She will fairly consistently say nueve (nine) when she gets to the number six or seven. If this continues, I will try to converse with her math teacher to see if this something that she does in English as well.
She then would say the phrase my turn in Spanish to start her turn of getting to set up the Jenga blocks like dominoes. She would request a number of blocks between one and ten using the Spanish word.
The teacher would then take a turn following the same pattern to provide repetition. Libby was responsible for counting out the requested number of blocks for the teacher.
Libby currently needs to count from 1 up to the number she desires to express in order to say it. This is common amongst learners. Hopefully, she will be able to state the desired number without this support as we continue to use the numbers.
