Libby was seen in her room for a 45-minute treatment session with the focus of therapy on fine motor skills specifically grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, and handwriting. Libby participated well and was focused throughout her treatment session. Continued to work on increasing dexterity, manipulation and hand strength with putty and hidden object activity. Libby enjoyed using the intrinsic muscles of her hands to find the hidden objects in the moderately resistive putty. We continued therapy with visual recall and recognition of both uppercase and lowercase alphabet letters today. Libby was able to recognize and name every letter of the uppercase alphabet except for the letters V, P and J. Last week she needed minimum verbal cues for the letter "B" D" this week she knew them. Last week she couldn't recognize H, v and O this week she knew H and O. Both weeks she could not recognize uppercase "V". She is making solid improvement with recall for her letters. We will start with handwriting program next week 10/03/2024 using Print Island to teach Libby the correct formation of the lowercase letters. She needs to work on her recall and recognition of the lowercase alphabet as well. Good session, progress is steady.
