Libby and I used the phrase gracias por to help her express gratitude for the things for which she is grateful.
We made a gratitude board. She searched for pictures of things that she appreciates in her life. She printed pictures of those items and cut them out. As she would place them on her board, she would say gracias por... and then glue the picture in place.
