Lesson Outline
Cam and I focused in on the Spanish Alphabet. He remembered approximately half the letters without any sort of reminder or refresh.
I told him the name of specific letters as needed. We made connections as we went along dealing with how letters and or phonemes may be viewed/categorized by different groups.
We spoke about which letters are viewed as official by the academy of Argentina.
We discussed ch, ll, rr and lleismo. We discussed alternate pronunciations for the letter z.
Cam was given an opportunity to practice his alphabet.
Per his request, we moved his alphabet test up to today. He scored a 100% but needed to go back and fix the "l" sound that he made.
This amount of information typically would be done over a period of time, but we were able to quickly introduce, assess, refresh (address gaps), and complete for a grade all of this material in single session.
Good job, Cam!
We finished the session by discussing the number of countries that speak Spanish and possible reasons why.
