Chris read a realistic fiction story in his Literature book and demonstrated his understanding of the ideas by stating the conflict and conveying the major events that occurred during the rising action. He was able to summarize the correct order of events, which we described as the linear plot, and he identified the climax of the story when afforded supportive prompts. I encouraged Chris to put himself in the protagonist's position and discuss what he would have done in a similar situation, and he answered logically and supported his ideas effectively. Chris concluded our session describing the resolution of the conflict and the story's final outcome. He also finished work completing a story board for the project on which he's been working.
