We worked on beginning and ending sounds using an early reader book and the strategies I suggested yesterday. To determine if gains seen at the end of the last class were consolidated, we used a new reader and covered the picture clues. Teddy improved his sight word recognition as well as his motivation to attempt sounding out words with which he is unfamiliar or struggling to decode.
