Political Alliances NATO, Voting districts and Gerrymandering: Political alliances definition as a group of nations who have a cooperative agreement as allies for military purposes, self-protection, and resistance to other countries' mistreatment. Voting districts and electoral votes : 270 Electoral votes required to win US Presidential Elections, Number of House of Rep. members plus US Senators in any State determines the number of Electoral votes for that State. Gerrymandering as a practice of drawing or re-drawing voting districts to favor the election of candidates who appeal to the ethnic, political, and Demographic make up of the particular voting district.

During today's lesson on Political Alliances, electoral votes, and voting districts Kaitlin was very interested in how the US is divided into voting districts and how that affects congress elections and national elections. She is now more aware of the "political geography" make up of the US which influences how candidates from the major parties are able to be elected.
