Session Date
Lesson Topic
Creating words with -in, -it, and -is.
Lesson Outline
Libby started out by recalling the words we worked on yesterday (-in, -it, and -is). Next, she used letters to create words using those roots. She formed dine, diner, finer, and miner. Then, she formed lit, bit, fit, and sit. Lastly, she created miss, kiss, and sis. Once, she was done, I asked her to be creative and create a few new words. She said queen, Jaqie, and lucky ducky. Then, we discussed how words that end with -y have the long e sound. We looked at her name tag and discussed that since both of her names end in -y, each says the long e sound. Next session, we'll work on rhymes.
