Go over the elements of a story from the book Buckle Down Florida Reading explain that the common elements are the same for fiction books, whether mystery, drama, romance, etc. and they are - characters, setting, plot, and mood - explain the importance of vivid details and sensory words. Read/discuss orally "Edwin's Return" then identify each of the elements. Next, read examples of narrative writing - introduction with thesis and how the other paragraphs give further details to support your thesis. Also, Josh typed a summary and reflection of A Hole in My Life - an assignment for school. He needed some help with spelling, capitalization, etc. Sub for Kerri Ann
