Lesson Outline
Teddy worked on an activity requiring him to underline the evidence he finds in a passage after reading a text in a guided reading exercise. Teddy's ability to decode words and sound out their beginning sounds was facilitated by prompts and help with identifying phoneme sounds. I offered Teddy decoding strategies to continue to build his familiarity with sounds and letters. Continued practice is recommended. After completing his work, Teddy was encouraged to draw a picture that was related to the two stories he read to encourage text to self-connections.
