Libby had just come from a phonics session with Suzanne, so I pivoted and taught a language arts lesson. With the novel "Where Is Baby Lincoln?" by Kate DiCamillo, I taught the following literary concepts: title, author, illustrator, title page, main character, and setting. We made predictions and asked questions (Where is Baby going? Why does she want to leave?) as we read. At the conclusion of the session, we summarized what we read.
