For the first day of Art Studio Upper School, I asked each student to draw a tree in his sketchbook. It could be any kind of tree from memory or imagination. This drawing exercise is valuable, as it shows how each student has his own individual artistic style. PJ knew immediately that he wanted to draw a pine tree, as it is his favorite kind of tree. He confidently jumped right in and worked hard on his tree! He added bold color! It is refreshing to see confidence in the art studio! I am looking forward to working more with PJ!
